Elmwood Park Raingarden

 

Funding:

Funding is through the City of Vadnais Heights and supported by the VLAWMO Landscape Level 2 grant program. 

 

 

Construction:

Construction began August 23rd, 2024 and is expected to be complete in September-October. 
 
Native plants included in raingarden: Anise Hyssop, Sweet Black-Eyed Susan, Joe-Pye Weed, Marsh Blazing Star, Prairie Smoke, Yellow Coneflower, Prairie Flox, Hoary Vervain, Little Blue Stem, Switchgrass, Fox Sedge, Wooly Sedge, Prairie Dropseed, Dwarf Bush Honeysuckle.

Results:

Thousands of gallons of stormwater stored and treated annually, helping to reduce volume and sediment stresses on Lambert Creek.
