Spent Lime Demonstration Project Starting

The Oak Knoll Pond/Wood Lake spent lime demonstration project is underway in the City of White Bear Lake. A crew will be onsite for the first spent lime application on August 23rd, 2023. Spent lime applications and monitoring will be active onsite through the fall, with an anticipated break through October 23rd as the City of WBL Water Treatment Plant is serviced. Related to this project, trucks may be parked on Oak Knoll Drive, Birch Street, or White Bear Avenue to access the pond.

The goal of the project is to learn more about the use of spent lime, a widely available material, as a water quality improvement tool. Learn more about the project and spent lime at the project page below.
